Itinerary :
Day 1/ Amman – Mt. Nebo – Petra: On arrival, you will be met by a local representative. After freshening at the airport, proceed to Mt. Nebo (site only as the church is closed down for renovation) a city mentioned in the bible as the place where Moses was granted a view of the promised. It’s over 700m above the Jordan Valley and offers spectacular views of the Promised Land as seen by Moses. Next, drive to Petra, one of the 7 wonders of the world and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Overnight in Petra. (D)
Day 2/ Wadi Rum: Today, After breakfast proceed on a day trip to visit Wadi Rum. Explore Wadi Rum on a 4×4 jeep ride into the Jordanian desert! Wadi Rum was best described by T.E. Lawrence as “Vast, echoing and god-like”, and by the locals as “Valley of the Moon”. Also enjoy a camel ride in the desert. (The Wadi Rum visit is subject to weather conditions and visit may be cancelled due to flash floods warnings and closure of the site by local authorities at short notice). Later, drive back to Petra. Day 3/ Petra: Today, after breakfast check out of your hotel and proceed on a guided walking city tour of Petra. Enter the city through 1km long narrow gorge which is flanked either side by 80m high cliffs! Notice the dazzling colors and formations of the rocks. The site is massive and contains hundreds of elaborated rock-cut tombs, a treasury, Roman-style theatres,temples, sacrificial altars and colonnaded streets. Petra is half-built, half-carved into the rock, and is surrounded by mountains riddled with passages and gorges. It is one of the world’s most famous archaeological sites, where ancient Eastern Traditions blend with Hellenistic architecture. Next, drive to Amman. Overnight in Amman.(B, L, D)
Day 4/ Tel Aviv: After breakfast, check-out of your hotel & get set for a scenic drive to Tel Aviv, the capital city of Israel via Sheikh Hussein / Allenby Bridge. On arrival at Allenby Bridge, meet your guide and drive to Tel Aviv. Arrive at the old port of Jaffa, from where Jonah set sail and see the restored artists quarter and bustling flea market. Tel-Aviv is Israel’s cultural and commercial capital and center of night life. It’s a city on Israel’s Mediterranean coast, is marked by its stark 1930s Bauhaus buildings, thousands of which are clustered in the White City architectural area. The city is also known for its accessible beaches and vibrant night life ranging from Lilienblum Street’s lounges to Dizengoff Street’s open-air cafes. Tel Aviv Port’s waterfront promenade is lined with shops and restaurants. Overnight in Tel Aviv. (B, L, D)
Day 5/ Caesarea – Nazareth – Sea of Galilee: Enjoy your breakfast and depart Tel Aviv, drive along the coastal road to visit Caesarea, built by King Herod and once the capital of Judea. Visit the huge amphitheater. Drive via Haifa and take a photo with the beautiful Bah’ai gardens in the background. Next, we proceed to Nazareth where Mary was told by the Angel Gabriel that she would conceive a son and boyhood home of Jesus. Visit the Church of Annunciation. Later, arrive at the Sea of Galilee for a boat ride. Overnight in Tiberius overlooking the Sea of Galilee. (B, L, D)
Day 6/ Jerusalem – Dead Sea: After breakfast, check out and visit Capernaum, home of St Peter and center of Jesus’s preaching. Also,visit the 5th century synagogue. Visit Qumran caves where the Dead Sea scrolls were found by a nomadic shepherd. Continue via the Jordan River (where Jesus was baptized by St.John the Baptist), passing Jericho, to the lowest point on earth, the Dead Sea. Time to enjoy and swim in the mineral rich therapeutic water of the Dead Sea. Ascend the Judean hills to Jerusalem. Overnight in Jerusalem. (B, L, D)
Day 7/ Jerusalem: Enjoy your breakfast and proceed to visit Yad Vashem. It is the Jewish people’s living memorial to the Holocaust. Walk along the Avenue of the Righteous and visit the museum complex. Next, we ascend to Mt Olives for a panoramic view of Jerusalem & Bethlehem. Cross the Kidron Valley and enter the Old City. See the Temple Mt and visit the Western Wall. Walk in the Via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, the place where Jesus was crucified. Later, drive to Bethlehem, see the Manger Square and visit the Church of Nativity, where Jesus was born. Overnight in Jerusalem.(B, L, D)
Day 8/ Amman: Have your breakfast and depart from Israel, complete the border formalities and drive to Amman. On arrival, we proceed to visit the ancient Greco-Roman city of Jerash, including the paved and colonnaded streets, soaring hilltop temples,theatres, spacious public squares and plazas,baths, fountains and the city walls. Later, we return to Amman and start our guided city tour, visiting sites and museums including the Archeological Museum, the Folklore Museum,The citadel, and the Amphitheatre. Everywhere you look there is evidence of the city’s much older past. The Royal Automobile Museum is one of the most interesting and well organized Museums in Jordan. The museum depicts the history of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan from the early1920s until today through cars & motorcycles.Enjoy a wide range of vintage and limited editioncars from Aston Martins, Mercedes Benz,Phantom, Lincolns, Cadillacs as well as some beautiful old motorcycles. Day 9/ Amman: After breakfast, proceed to the airport for your flight back home. (B)
