Itinerary :
Day 1: Chandigarh to Narkanda(180km): Arrival at Chandigarh railway station/airport & drive to Narkanda. Shimla also called the“Queen of Hill Stations”. It is one of the most popular and biggest hill stations surrounded by pine, deodar, oak and rhododendron forests. Arrive and check in at the hotel. Fagu which allures everyone. local sight seeing to Hatu Peak and Tanni Jubbar lake heaven on earth. Dinner and overnight stay at Narkanda.(D)
Day 2: Narkanda – Sangla (160kms/ 6 Hrs): After Breakfast checkout from hotel and transfer to Sangla. Sangla is a picturesque hill town situated in the Kinnaur District of Himachal Pradesh. Located in the valley of Baspa, this place lies in proximity to the Tibetan border. The town has been named after a village of the same name, which means ‘Pass of Light’ in the Tibetan language. The scenic beauty of the region is mesmerizing as it rests in the Greater Himalayas and is enveloped with forest slopes and mountains. Check into the hotel dinner and overnight stay at hotel. (B,D)
Day 3: Sangla-Chitkul-Sangla: After breakfast Leave from Sangla For Chitkul, the last indian Village on indo—Tibetan old Road. Via Batseri, Rakcham, Mastrang village.Enjoy visit to Temple, River side, Valley & Villages. After some time leave for Sangla back. After having lunch visit Nag Temple, Monasteries, Trout Firm. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.(B,D)
Day 4: Sangla-Kalpa (51 km/ 2 hrs/ 30 min): After breakfast checkout from hotel and transfer to Kalpa Via Karcham, Powari. After reaching Magistic 20,000ft High Kinnaur Kailash Peak, & Shivalingam From Here. visit rogi village its about 6-7 Kms from Kalpa and its known for its traditional lifestyle of Himachal surrounded by apple Orchids. Very nice place to have a short hike or walk across village from kalpa. You will almost feel you are in time machine and somewhere in past, if you really spent some time here in the village. The villagers have a great knowledge of the place. Its flora an fauna and you can get quite a decent knowledge in the village from them in case you are interested to know about kinnaur valley and this region. After lunch you can visit kothi village this village has a Chanadika devi temple which has an unusual architectural style and fine sculpture set amidst a picturesque mountain backdrop. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.(B,D)
Day 5: Kalpa-Tabo ( 150 kms/ 3 hrs 30 min): After breakfast check out from hotel and drive to Tabo. On your way, visit Kinnaur’s most picturesque hamlet and the Nako Lake. Nako is a heritage village built around a small lake and has an important Buddhist Gompa and a small temple. A footprint like impression on a rock is ascribed to the saint Guru Padmasambhava. Explore the scenic Spiti Valley that has few signs of vegetation. The beauty of Spiti lies in its unspoiled, untainted raw landscape. Rudyard Kipling describes Spiti in ‘Kim’ in these words: “At last they entered a world within a world- a valley of leagues where the high hills were fashioned of the mere rubble and refuse from off the knees of the mountains, surely the Gods live here.” Dinner and overnight stay at hotel. Day 6: Tabo-Kaza (50 kms/ 1 hr 30 min): After breakfast checkout from hotel and head to Kaza (3870 metres above sea level). On your way to Kaza (the capital of Spiti Valley), visit Dhankar Gompa, the traditional capital of Spiti. This hilltop fort that overlooks the Spiti Valley used to be a jail earlier. Today, more than 160 lamas reside here. Notable sights at Dhankar Gompa include a statue of Vairochana (Dhayan Buddha) consisting of 4 figures seated back to back in addition to various crumbling Thangkas. Visit Kibber Village, Komic Village. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.(B,D)
Day 7: Kaza: After having breakfast in Kaza start drive towards key monestry, visit monestry and then move towards world s highest motrable village in the world with the electricity (Komic 4560mtrs) have lunch in a local home in Lang za and start walking towards million years old fossil park in Lang za. For evening drive back to Kaza.Overnight stay in Hotel in Kaza (B,D)
Day 8: Kaza – Loshar – Kumzum la – Chandratal: We drive to one of the most photogenic places of the Spiti Valley – the Chandratal Lake. On theway we pass through the high altitude pass of Kunzum La. Stop by at the stupa and pay tribute to the local goddess, “Kuzum Mata” as she is called. At 15,000 feet above sea-level the Kuzum Pass connects Kullu and Lahaul to the Spiti Valley. Chandratal Lake – A visual marvel, this stunning blue coloured Lake is set at an altitude of 4300 meters above sea level in the heart of high Himalayas and is a must see on a full moon night. It derives its name, “Chandra” (Moon) crystal clear shades of blur to emerald greens by dusk. Live your dream of camping comfortably in state of the art tents in the Himalayas as you spend your evening gazing at the Milky Way and the millions of stars on a clear night. (we can plan accordingly so we can stay here on new moon or full moon ) Overnight at a camp 2 kms away from Chandratal Lake.( tent stay) (B,D)
Day 9: Chandratal – Manali: After breakfast we drive from Chandratal Lake towards Manali. We take a quick stop at Batal for a cup of tea at a small tea-shop run by a beautiful old couple. From there, we continue driving on the Kaza – Manali highway and stop at Chatru for lunch. Drive through the famous Rohtang Pass and return to Manali to end your breath-taking Spiti Valley sojourn. Day 10: Manali – Chandigarh ( 295 kms/ 8 hrs): After Breakfast check out from hotel and drive to Chandigarh airport or railway station.(B)
